Well done to Haringey Council for defying Momentum/PSC intimidation to support the IHRA definition of antisemitism (as have many of our local councils already, including Barnet, Harrow and Hertsmere). This definition is important because it makes clear that demonisation of Israel can be antisemitic. Its opponents falsely claim that it shuts down legitimate criticism, when the definition itself makes clear that that isn’t the case.
See how Momentum and PSC activists packed the public gallery and attempted to shout down the debate.
Haringey’s stance is especially impressive when you look at the political composition of the council. Sadly, we suspect that Momentum will attempt to exact punishment for this defiance.
