Briefings on the UNHRC report

You will know that the UN Human Rights Council – a body on which sit (currently) such paragons of human rights as Cuba, China, Saudi Arabia and Russia – has published its report into the Gaza conflict. Here are a couple of useful sources about this report.

Say No to antisemitism at the BBC

antisemitism at the BBC

On January 11, 2015, BBC correspondent Tim Willcox interviewed people at the Paris rally against terrorism. He spoke with a Jewish woman who told him that she was living in fear in the wake of the terrorist attacks against the Charlie Hebdo magazine and a kosher supermarket.

His response was that she should understand the terrorism because “Palestinians suffer hugely at Jewish hands as well.”

Such a comment is unacceptable. Holding Jews collectively responsible for actions by the State of Israel is anti-Semitic according to both the EU’s working definition of anti-Semitism, as well as that of the U.S. State Department.
